4 1/2 Months

Liam at the COS Autumn Fest.
4 1/2 months is a great age! We are having so much fun watching Liam grow.  He has learned so many new things in these past few weeks. He can sit up by himself for about 30 seconds before he topples over, he reaches for everything (so inquisitive!), he started eating cereal and applesauce (loves to eat), he eats less during the day and takes longer naps, and he loves people. Even the shadow of a person far off in the distance will make him smile! We have learned that there are two downsides to this age: 1. we can't keep him out late anymore. He needs to have a real bedtime in his own bedroom.  The other night we went to Chili's with friends and he had a total meltdown. He is not such a small infant anymore! No more falling asleep wherever he may lie.  2. Noises are starting to scare him: the blow dryer, raking leaves, bag of chips, blowing nose, you name it...if it makes a loud-ish/strange sound, it is bound to make him cry.
Hanging out with daddy.

Liam also loves going for a run in the jogging stroller, he has a lot of fun in his exersaucer, he is so smitten with his daddy and he is even doing better in his car seat.  He makes a lot of fun noises and (so far) has good manners when we feed him.  He is patient while we say grace with him, and doesn't put his hands in his mouth or the bowl.  If he tries to, we correct him. Hopefully by instilling these manners in him now, he will learn early on proper table etiquette.  Liam also loves other babies and children.
