Let

Here is a fact: If you are follower of Christ, you are a saint, not a sinner. You were a sinner, but now you have put off the old man, have put on the new man and are being renewed day by day.  You are covered by the blood of Christ. Therefore, you are a saint- not a sinner.  But how many of us go about thinking of ourselves as sinners instead of saints? Do we realize how defeating- and untrue- this is?

Fact #2: If you are a follower of Christ, you are filled with the Holy Spirit.  When we do something good, it is the Spirit in us at work. It is not that we are doing a good thing, thereby making God happy. No, it is the Spirit in us at work.  If we have the Holy Spirit in us, then the Fruit of the Spirit is evidenced in our actions and behaviors.  We are not putting on the fruit, no; rather, we are allowing or letting the Spirit to work in us.

You see, we have a choice. We can let the Spirit do His thing, or we can block Him- by choosing our will/the enemy's will.  See here:

"In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16
{The light is there, but we have to let it shine.}

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit." Galatians 5:22-25

I am just so taken with this word "let."
